Sintra
“So,” David asked after a few hours of flight, “Who is Sintra?”
“Sintra,” Chris explained, “Is the last of the Grand Masters in Noksung, China. He lost his power the night that Scoilteach launched an attack on all the centres of the Grand Masters in one night.”
“Okay,” Richard said digesting this new information, “So we go to see this Sintra guy and he can make us better?”
“Basically that is the plan,” Chris said.

They travelled on for nearly an entire day and when they finally landed they had to take a train out from the airport for six more hours and then drive another three in a four wheeled drive over rough terrain, which quashed any hopes the Empowered and Chris had of getting some sleep during their long trip. The off road jeep finally came to a halt at the foot of a mountain. The driver of the jeep took out all of their bags and left them on the side of the dirt track. He pointed up to the top of the mountain and told them, in a word, that they would find Noksung at the top of the mountain. Chris nodded his thanks and handed the driver some money and picked up his bag. He motioned for the others to follow him and he moved towards the foot of the mountain. No words were spoken between any of the travelling ODDs, they were too exhausted to bother talking to each other; preferring instead to conserve their energy for the astronomical climb ahead of them. The three of them threw their bags over their backs, they were really grateful they had chosen bags that allowed them to do this, and they started to climb. The climb was difficult. It was at an angle that was around seventy-five degrees. Every now and again one of the rocks would give way as one of the climbers allowed their entire weight to rest on it. This almost caused a fall many times. The mountain wasn’t particularly high; this was a small blessing amongst the many curses that the mountain brought. Half way up there was a ledge, it was covered by the mountain overhead and it was difficult to get from the bottom up to start climbing again. Richard managed to pull himself up there. He was relieved to see that the angle changed to a forty-five degree one from there on up and he guessed an hour more would get them to the green area just outside the walls of the city. Chris decided that they should take the opportunity of the ledge, and its amazing view of the plains below, to have a bite to eat and a short rest before finishing the easier last leg of the climb.
After they had finished their lunch they began the climb again. From where they were all of them, even Richard, found it too difficult to properly climb from the lower ledge to the higher slope. They decided to walk around the ledge in the hopes that they could find a spot from which it would be easier to scale the gap.
